It's actually misting a very light rain out there this morning. Glory hallelujah.
Poor Ella is soaking wet for the second time in one day. But really, between a dip--however involuntary--into the estuary and sharing my bed with me, a bath was in order.
(Seven photos.)
Tern stays close to the rule sheet
Blending with the fog
Snowy egrets
Pelicans at sunrise
Ever feel like you're being watched?
White pelicans
A great heron flies in front of our boat--can you see him?
The door is off my wood stove, having a new gasket put on. And I forgot about the fundamental nature of a cat. (Four photos)
For those who have never (or even not recently) watched pelicans fishing.
The party seems to be the baitfish that recently brought the whales in so close. The terns are back, and of course the pelicans never left. They were just extra-active today.
...that I forgot I'd taken on my hiking trip. Because sometimes a still photo is just not enough.
This is the second day in a row this hawk sat in the tree over my house, calling. (Two photos of him.)
...who shall remain nameless... missed his sister the dog while she was away on vacation.
Four photos of the sunset taken 10 or 15 minutes apart.
Someone was just telling me today that rosemary flowers. So I went out and looked at mine.
Five photos.
Think of these as miscellaneous. Five photos.
A cascade so close to our campground at Devil's Postpile that I could hear it from inside the campervan.
A small waterfall along Shadow Creek on our way up to Ediza Lake. And yes, we had to climb that (via trail).
One of the few steep bits in Little Lakes Valley.
Just after a stream crossing.
Fall colors in the Sierras.
...from a number of different vantage points.
...aka Little Lakes Valley. Five photos.
For this trip, anyway. (Four photos.)
Just this morning.
A couple more...
Moon over Agnew Meadows
Shadow Lake
Ella in her trail fleece. It was 35 degrees!
These were taken early Monday morning.
This was the crown jewel of our hiking trip. Reds Meadow to Ediza Lake. And back. Exhausting. Worth it.
