The first I've gotten to hold still for a long time.
Almost at the horizon, a sailing ship passes near Piedras Blancas.
Because... wait for it... one good one deserves another.
May the better fisher win.
Which I guess would be a tern for the better? Sorry. Had to do it.
In a creative mode.
...but I find them nearly impossible to photograph. They stay far off shore, they're small, they move fast and in unpredictable directions. If you've ever tried to catch a moving target on super-high zoom, you'll know what I mean. So today I just tried harder. Not a perfect shot, but not bad considering the challenges.

I think it's sweet: the cat not only misses me when the dog and I go away, you can tell he missed the dog.
