Undeterred by the lack of birds, Jordan stares patiently at the feeders and waits.
A finch uses the hummingbird feeder as a waiting area (because there's a larger bird in the seed feeder) while a hummingbird calmly works around him.
Serenity in (lack of) action.
At quite a distance. Let's hear it for zoom lenses.
Three photos.
The color gets me every time.
I watched this guy fly for a while, and the one talon was always down. An injury, maybe?
... and something I wish we could really do.
At Taco Temple in Morro Bay.
Near sunset. Which, I must say, comes strangely early.
How. We. Need it. (Jordan keeps thinking the tapping on the window is a bird.)
Somehow I would think a shorebird would see that coming.
It looked lovely setting behind the trees, but it wasn't working well to try to get the trees in the shot.
And slowly. Because it's a very windy day.
Two photos of harmony.
(Or maybe it's two of the sisters.) Windy day. Could almost have been a storm but not quite.
The contrast of these two colors appealed to me.
I doubt I've ever gotten seven herons/great egrets together in one photo before.
I think it's a partial ring around the sun, but it's hard to tell.
The ones who appear to be looking back at you.
