For those of you who remember my blog post entitled MY BOOTS ARE DISCO, I was a little embarrassed by the newness and lack of character of my new hiking boots after nine years and probably three thousand miles on the old ones. I photographed them side-by-side as a comment on character, and how it's (in my opinion) attained.
I'm happy to say that a couple hundred miles makes a big difference. As you can see.
And I really appreciate that my wonderful readers and friends not only have patience while I blog about such seemingly trivial life changes, but empathize and share their own experiences. I thought people would think I was nuts for blogging about hiking boots, but it seems I'm not the only one who has a relationship with various well-worn articles of clothing and gear.
Off to Pike's Peak in just a little over two weeks. (Yikes! Have I got some packing to do!) Will blog more about the trip between now and then.
